Dogwood Festival!

I’ve been meaning to post this for a while, but I was a little preoccupied with getting ready for Branson. But we made it to Branson, so I’m going to take a few minutes to post about last weekend. Last weekend was Siloam Springs’ Dogwood Festival. So the outlaws came over and we went downtown. There were about a million booths and all kinds of crazy fried food, including fried pickle on a stick, fried alligator and fried snickers. We stopped at one booth and got a a couple of bows and then we stopped at Heather Hill and got this adorable bow!

Very Long Short Week

Ahhh… man, it’s been a long week (and it didn’t even begin until Tuesday!). And I’m finally sitting here in my jammies with a (decaf) latte, listening to Johnny Cash. I can thank Ansen for the inspiration, but it fits the mood of this cloudy day. Some of the laundry is done. Most of the dishes are clean. You can see the floor of our bedroom again. The baby is sleeping. I just finished a couple of loads of laundry. Now to recap this crazy (fussy) week.

I don’t know if Avelea is having a growth spurt, teething, out of her routine because of travel, or all of the above, but she has been mostly fussy every single day this week. I know babies sometimes just need to cry, but seriously, I have a perpetual headache from the constant wailing. We did have a tiny little bright spot today, though.

  • Take walk with hubby
  • Finally home to make and eat dinner

Whirl Wind Weekend

So this weekend, we had quite a whirl wind! We went to Manhattan (Kansas… the Little Apple) for Ansen’s cousin’s wedding, with a little pitstop in Wichita on the way there and back.  This was Avie’s first trip! We left for Wichita Friday morning(4 hours in the car). Here are our babies in the back seat:

Christ is Risen

Christ is risen indeed!

We’ve had a pretty great Easter Sunday. We started off the morning by little Avie sleeping in! She woke up happy and we had fun looking at the Easter basket Grandma Kim sent. Avie’s not ready for the candy, but she did notice her bunny!

AND we still managed to make it to church early for the Easter egg hunt/drop […]
