Yesterday I intentionally posted nothing. You know why? Because that’s what we did. Absolutely nothing. I didn’t even get dressed until 6:30pm. But… today made up for that. While Avie was napping, we weeded the entire front bed:
And then there were wasps. They were coming out of everywhere. It was crazy and they were dive bombing us and we had to be like ninjas. Ok, so maybe there were just a few of them, coming out of one particular bush and they flew off. No one got stung. But we found the wasp spray (best $5 I have ever spent!!) and killed them all dead. Then, we were afraid that the wasp spray might kill the bush, and it just so happened to be one of the smallest bushes. So we had to pull the garden hose to the front. Which proved to be more difficult than you would think because the closest gate doesn’t open. So we had to open it. Then Ansen decided to clear away the dirt blocking the gate.
Then we had to fix the gate by screwing in some of the planks. The truth is that we need to completely redo the gate because whoever built it had no idea what they were doing. (The sad thing is I think they were “professionals.”)
Then we had some unexpected (but very welcome) dinner guests! Ansen’s family stopped by on their way back from Kansas. We made “Mexican Pizza” and then a take on fried ice cream that was pretty delicious! Thanks, Andrew for the idea! Too bad I didn’t take a picture of it. It was ice cream with baked flour chips covered in cinnamon and sugar, all drizzled with caramel sauce.
