What To Do While Not Spending Money

For March, we did a financial freeze. So what do you do when you’re not spending money? Well, you’re spending time… doing something. The more busy you are, the less time you have to spend money. Can I get an “Amen”?

For me, that meant catching up on some crafting. And I bet you want pictures. Alright, ok, here you go:

First, my beautiful new desk I finished last month, sans the pencil drawer, because I’ve had a special Pinterest inspired project for it.

I’ve been saving cereal, tissue and other various cardboard boxes for a while and finally had enough to fill said pencil drawer. Organizing them felt like one of those tangrams from first grade. (Remember those?) First I glued them together so they wouldn’t move around on me (and held them in place with clothes pins).

Then I covered them with $2 wrapping paper from Target from last Christmas… first going one direction (haha, Maddie)… then the other. And finally the bottom.

Ta-da! Perfect organizing for free. Now I just have 3 more to do… oh boy. More tangrams!

It was St. Patty’s day.

And we played in a box. (Seriously love this face!)

With the encouragement of a friend, we started a new shoe project. Of course I thought I knew better than the pattern and now they’re a bit too tall across the top of her foot, but darling nonetheless. I’m going to try one more time and hopefully those will fit better.

I finally finished started a project from January. At Avie’s birthday party, we encouraged people to write on the table coverings (brown postal paper from the Dollar Tree). The intention was to cut them out and use them as the paper for a scrapbook about the special day.

So, I traced around the writing and cut them out. I guess now I actually have to do the scrapbooking.

And… lastly, for Easter, since my sweet girl has a super cute dress already, I made myself a bubble skirt in a fun spring print.

What’s next? Well, for April, my mom-in-law talked me in to joining the MoneySavingMom Spring cleaning challenge with her. Wanna join us? I’m going to tell you all about it next week.
