It’s Thursday

And I haven’t posted all week. It’s been a good week so far, a very happy baby after we got her naps under control. She also turned 3 months old yesterday!

To celebrate, she has slept a record 11 hours at night, rolled from her tummy to her back, laughed and sat in her bumbo! She was a very busy little girl!

Very Long Short Week

Ahhh… man, it’s been a long week (and it didn’t even begin until Tuesday!). And I’m finally sitting here in my jammies with a (decaf) latte, listening to Johnny Cash. I can thank Ansen for the inspiration, but it fits the mood of this cloudy day. Some of the laundry is done. Most of the dishes are clean. You can see the floor of our bedroom again. The baby is sleeping. I just finished a couple of loads of laundry. Now to recap this crazy (fussy) week.

I don’t know if Avelea is having a growth spurt, teething, out of her routine because of travel, or all of the above, but she has been mostly fussy every single day this week. I know babies sometimes just need to cry, but seriously, I have a perpetual headache from the constant wailing. We did have a tiny little bright spot today, though.

Target Trip and a Crabby Baby

Yesterday was a busy day:

  • Work meeting at the church.
  • Other work party – Field Agent is 2 years old!!
  • Target
  • Sonic for half priced drinks!
  • Make sure Allstate took sold car off of insurance
  • Buy a Sunday paper (luckily they still have them on a Tuesday)
  • Take half price drink to hubby
  • Chat with Vonda
  • Take walk with hubby
  • Finally home to make and eat dinner

Whirl Wind Weekend

So this weekend, we had quite a whirl wind! We went to Manhattan (Kansas… the Little Apple) for Ansen’s cousin’s wedding, with a little pitstop in Wichita on the way there and back.  This was Avie’s first trip! We left for Wichita Friday morning(4 hours in the car). Here are our babies in the back seat:

There’s Always Tomorrow

Since my beautiful little Avelea came into our lives, things have been hectic. Crazy. Scattered. Chaos, really. Like space was before God spoke things into existence. Formless and without structure. So, for my own sanity, I’ve been trying to establish a new normal. Coming up with a routine is difficult, sticking to it, nearly impossible. Some days are better than others. But, luckily, I’ve had some encouragement from one of my new favorite blogs. I’ve started reading daily and found that she has some very helpful tips.

For starters, she’s doing a month long spring cleaning daily task challenge. I haven’t done a single daily task… but I decided to start with the beginning. That’s usually a good place to start, right? Each day’s assignment starts at the beginning: getting dressed. I have to admit, that right there has been a challenge in and of itself…
