An Announcement!

It’s been on Facebook for a while now and pretty much everyone knows, I guess I should announce it to the blogosphere. (That is a thing, right? Did I spell it right?)

Avie is finally going to be a big sister!! Or at least that’s how we told our family. In her 2 year old understanding, there is indeed a baby in mommy’s belly… and possibly one in her own. However, she has no idea what this will mean for this mama’s girl.

So the details… I’m about 11 weeks along, which means I’m due March 9th (or March 12th, if you go by dates). I have been WAY more morning sick this time around. I mean, morning, afternoon, evening, middle of the night. It’s all the time. And… hopefully beginning to go away. As par for the course, I’ve been exhausted and daily naps are a must. (Thankfully, Avie is usually a good napper… except the times I really need a nap and she sits at my door.)

My “prophetic” sister, who has successfully predicted 2 nephews and a niece, says this will be a girl. While I’d be excited to have another little girl (and not have to buy an all new wardrobe!!!), with as different as this one has been, I’m betting on a boy. I guess we’ll see at the anatomy ultrasound somewhere around 20 weeks. Or, maybe we won’t. That’s always a possibility. (Though I certainly hope not!!! This planning mama couldn’t handle not knowing the whole time!)

We are hopefully (if insurance stuff works out) going to be using the brand new Birthing Center in Rogers with 3 wonderful midwives. So far, I’ve only met 1, but they all sound fabulous and I’m excited that we have similar philosophies about baby baring. AND, the most important thing for me… they allow water births! Not going to lie, I’m super excited about that tub.

So that’s the new thing we’re focusing on after the house catastrophe. To be honest, this totally usurps the disappointment from that. Yay babies!
