I know it’s been half a month, but it took us that long to recover from a week of Christmas! I just took the Christmas Tree down two days ago. But let’s reminisce about the fun we had:
First, we had a snowday before Christmas actually began. There was so much snow that the kids didn’t have school for 5 whole days (plus a weekend!). Honestly, the snow wasn’t that bad, but we live in a region that doesn’t receive that much snow/ice and isn’t really equipped to take care of it. They certainly try, but it takes a couple of warm days for us to get our streets cleared, no matter how much work those guys put in.
Then we headed to Little Rock to begin our Christmas Trek. For the first time ever, Avie actually slept in the car peacefully without a huge fight and many tears. I think it’s probably a mile stone.
Avie got lots of K-State, a fox and some dishes! She loves to “make dinner.”
Then, we had a simple Christmas at home for the one evening we were hope between Christmases. Avie got some Color Wonder Markers and her very own Bible. Daddy got some shoes and a gaming mouse and Mommy got a dutch oven!
Lastly, we headed to Wichita for the last stent of our marathon. Avie got some cardigans, puzzles, a princess book, socks, and bath alphabet. She plays with the letters nearly every day… even without the bath!
We got back just in time for another snow!
Even though we had a great time with both families, we are definitely thankful to be home, unpacked and settled in again. After all, we have a birthday party to plan for! Someone’s going to be 2 in just over a week!
