A Tulsa Adventure

I’m behind on my cleaning, but I have a very good reason for that. We went on an adventure!

Some wonderful friends of ours live about an hour and a half from us, but we rarely see them. After multiple, “we should get together sometime” conversations, the last time they were in town, we found a date on the calendar and made a plan!

Friday afternoon, we headed over to Tulsa. We took a stroll by the river to a fun little burger joint. While we did have to battle some gnats on the way, the food was delicious and the company was wonderful. Then we went back to their house, put the little one down for bed and played a new game, Ticket to Ride, which was super fun. We stayed up late talking and catching up.

Saturday morning, we all slept in a bit and it looked like it was going to be lazy, rainy Saturday. So we spent the morning in our jammies, eating some yummy breakfast (she made lemon sticky buns… oh so good!), hanging out. But then, as the afternoon wore on, the sun came out and the birds started chirping. The girls made a quick run to JC Penney (for their $1 flip flop sale!!) and the guys played some video games. Then… we spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the weather in their backard, playing bocci ball and grilling some chicken for fajitas for dinner.

Sadly, after dinner, we had to head back to be at church this morning, but we were so glad we got to hang out with them. I’m definitely looking forward to the next time we can head over again and explore some more of Tulsa.

So today, we made up for “lost time” (can’t really say it was “lost”,  because time with friends is never lost) by weeding the front bed, planting some more daffodils (is it too late? I’m sure it is… they probably won’t come up!) and getting my garden started.

But I also worked on my bathroom project from last Thursday. I can now check that one off the list. Here’s my guest bathroom cabinet stockpile central before:

And after…

I moved the wire racks side by side to hold a big shoe box to hold all of the extras and a couple of boxes underneath

Then, I had a couple more of these “drawer” shoe boxes that I repurposed for more storage. Then I could stack some boxes on top. This also freed up some baskets to use in my bathroom! Oh, it’s so clean! Love it!
