Recently, I became aware that people blog full-time (or even part-time)… meaning, they make money to share their thoughts with the world. I mean, I guess I knew this existed, but it never occurred to me that these could be normal people, like my Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law (who have a DIY blog that could potentially make them some money). Working from home on 2 part time jobs, this is especially intriguing because I would love to stay home with my little lady, but one income is simply not enough.
The problem…er… problems? 1) I am simply not that good of a writer. I mean, sure I can write, but it doesn’t flow naturally. I’m not particularly witty or clever, and I’m not sure I’m that interesting. 2) I don’t have a unique topic. Why would anyone read my blog? What do I have to share with the world that is unique enough that they would go out of their way to check it out each week? 3) I am terribly inconsistent. I mean, come on, I couldn’t write a weekly blog even when I had a really good reason to: documenting the DIY projects while growing a Kumquat.
So for now, I think I should work on being consistent. Maybe that will improve my writing? Practice makes perfect, right? Now I could say that, like I have so many times before. To remedy that, I am going to set a goal (and proclaim it to the world!): I plan to blog every Wednesday and Friday. Monday is my couponing day, so that would be my first choice.
Twice a week. I think I can do it. I invite you to hold me to it. Maybe with the consistency, I will develop as a writer and maybe even find a topic.
