How Does Your Garden Grow?

This post could also be called, “Being faithful in the small things?”

I always get excited in spring. It’s so full of potential. The expectation of things to come: flowers, leaves on trees… warmer weather! (For one who hates being cold, this is ALWAYS an exciting thing!) In my hopeful state, I always seem to get a little over zealous with what I think I can accomplish…

Sleep Update

As promised, a new post!

As an update after 2 days of sleep training (Monday and Tuesday) little Avie lady is doing ok. We have had some moderate success. Monday, we took a “nap” in the morning in my bed. She didn’t really fall asleep on her own, but I got some much needed sleep. Then we got up and ate, and played, and I “caught the wave,” so to speak, of her sleep, and put her down for a nap at just the right time! I put her in her bed, drowsy, but still slightly awake and not a peep…

Sleepy, Sleepy Baby

Side note – I broke my promise already, I didn’t post last Wednesday or Friday. I have several excellent excuses, like Sharathon, being super busy, and my mom being in town, but I still didn’t post. Maybe this week will be better? On to the main attraction:

Sleep is a hard thing for a Bayer… at least for our littlest Bayer. She’s a sleepy, sleepy little girl, but she just won’t take a nap. She sleeps pretty well at night, but to take a nap is like torture to her. She’ll fall asleep for 10 minutes while you hold her, but go to put her in her bed and the eye lids fly open as though to say…

A Blog About Blogging?

Recently, I became aware that people blog full-time (or even part-time)… meaning, they make money to share their thoughts with the world. I mean, I guess I knew this existed, but it never occurred to me that these could be normal people, like my Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law (who have a DIY blog that could potentially make them some money).

Working from home on 2 part time jobs, this is especially intriguing because I would love to stay home with my little lady, but one income is simply not enough…

Two Things

Or maybe three. That’s how many I got done today. And I have decided I am going to be ok with that. I recently read an article that said that people can really only remember 3-4 things in their short term memory for about 20 seconds. Trying to do more will make you forget them all. So, I have decided that rather than trying to get my whole to do list done (which simply cannot happen with a 1 month old), I am going to focus on 3 (maybe 4) things to accomplish every day. If I do, I can confidently say it was a good day.

Today, those things were calling insurance about coverage on preventing any more children (for the time being), making an appointment to use my massage gift card that my awesome husband got me for valentines day, and reconciling my receipts with Mint.com…
