So there is one week left in June (next week) and I had $17 left at the beginning of this week, but there were a couple of good deals I got this week for almost free:

We are blessed to have so many awesome fathers in our lives. My daddy, Bobby, and Ansen’s daddy, Steve, have shaped us both more than we could ever describe. Then there’s their dads’ and our moms’ dads’. For me (Dri) that’s my dad’s dad, Papa Dale, my mom’s dad Grandad Walt, my dad’s “step” dad, Grandpa Kinny, and my dad’s grandpa, Great Grandad Ted. For Ansen, that’s his dad’s dad, Grandpa Max and his mom’s dad, Grandpa Alden. All those grandpas have had a profound impact on our parents and therefore us… and we think they’re pretty cool guys as well.
This week Ansen and I actually sat down and made a menu out of the stuff we already have. While he was antsy for us to go watch a Big Bang Theory episode, we stuck it out and actually came up with enough meals for the week. Here’s what we’ve had/will be having this week:
Well… this should have been posted last Friday, but then some things happened (we – Avelea and I – made a quick trip to Kansas for my great grandma’s funeral). I’m a little behind on my posting, so I may be doing multiple postings. You might want to keep checking back so you don’t miss one. Anyways… we have some stuff left from the previous trip, so this trip was a little easier, but still tight. I shouldn’t have gone hungry though, because it was hard to tell myself “no” time and time again! Also, poor miss Avie was ready to be done before we even made it to the last store. :(
My great grandma, Billie “Joy” Knight, was a strong woman. Though most would think of her as sweet, kind, shy, maybe even soft, I chose to remember her as strong. Hers was a quite strength, not one that was boisterous or crazy. No, that was her partner in crime, grandad Ted. She married her best friend at the young age of 16 and loved him until her last breath at 85.
