Yesterday I met with the district youth coordinator. Not having grown up in the Methodist church, this whole district, conference, etc. thing is all new to me. I’m excited to have our kids involved in a district stuff and get to know other Christian teens outside of our church. At the same time, there are sooo many activities that we’re expected to be a part of, which kind of goes against my simplistic ministry philosophy. My kids don’t need more activities in their busy, over-scheduled lives. They need adults who care about them and have meaningful relationships with them. We’re going to have to say “no” to a few things.
