My flying experience wasn’t too bad. My checked bag was 1 lb over weight, so I had to put a pair of shoes into my carry on, which was not a problem. Then the lady at the baggage check said to go up the escalator make a left and then a left… when she should have said “make a left and go straight”… but I found it eventually. Also, I got in trouble because they never told me to take my laptop out and put it in a separate tub for scanning… they told me everything else, like take any liquids out and put your shoes in a separate container. So I had to wait while they scanned things again separately. But I got on the plane without any problems and found a seat next to a guy and a girl going to Las Vegas. They were both friendly and talkative and we had a rather enjoyable trip. When we finally got up to cruising altitude, they wouldn’t let us stand up (to get the bag that I put in the overhead storage compartment… silly me) because of turblence. When I finally could get my laptop out to work on stuff I had it out all of 10 minutes and then they made us turn off all electronics. So that didn’t work out as well as I had planned. Next time I will definitely bring a book rather than work. Near the end it was incredibly turbulent and they kept apologizing for it… as if it were the pilots’ fault. When I got off the plane I realized how huge the Denver airport is. I had to take a train underground to get to the baggage claim. It took a bit to find my bag because there were 9 carousel and no one had ever said which one our flight’s would be on. Luckily right as I was thinking a voice came over the intercom and said that the Tulsa flight’s bags were on #9. So I found it and I found Pam and Katie and we had a good chat on the way back to Colorado Springs.
The worst part is that when I got back and opened up my bag, TSA had so kindly checked my bag and rearranged absolutely everything. They even turned my toiletry bag 180 degrees from the way I put it in there and restacked my clothes… on and not to mention smashed my bra’s in ways that they should not be smashed! But the bridesmaid’s dress and shoes are intact, so that’s the important part. I just spend 20 minutes rearranging things so that it’s organized and usable. Seriously though, TSA, didn’t your mothers ever teach you to put things back the way you found them!?!?
