Normal is a setting on your dryer

Life is moving towards equilibrium. Craziness is slowing down and I have a little room to think and breathe.

I’ve also been reading several books, including Screwtape Letters by CS Lewis. Basically it’s a senior demon exchanging letters with his nephew teaching him how to be a better tempter. They cannot create anything… but they can pervert, twist, and distort the good things that “the Enemy” has made, and our good intentions into things that actually separate us from Him. It’s very interesting the Screwtape instructs Wormwood to allow his “patient” to pray, but refocus his prayers on himself rather than God, and that’s just as good as if he didn’t pray at all, because he at least thinks he’s being good… but he’s really not doing any good at all.

Makes me think about my own prayer life. Am I really doing any good by praying if all I do is give God a laundry list? If all I do is whine about myself? And focus on myself? I don’t know.
