Rip Roarin’ Action

“How goes it?” you all say.

“It goes,” I reply.

Today was pretty spiffy. I had class, ate food, punched people with boxing gloves three times the size of my head in an inflatable boxing ring, watched sumo wrestling, learned how to kayak, and went into the girls’ dorms.

Which one of the preceding statements was not true?? You have five seconds to respond. Four….three….two….one….Time’s up.

I did not learn how to kayak today. I already know how to kayak. But that’s besides the point, because I didn’t do anything even remotely related to kayaking. Well, I take that back. I drank water, kayak’s are in water, we both came in contact with water, you get it.

But yes. I did have class today, I did eat food. The SGA (student government) sponsored a Welcome Dinner on the Quad (the quad is the grassy area in the middle of campus (used for ultimate frisbee, football, or just hanging out) today and had inflatable games and stuff. I punched people in the face in one of them, and then watched some people put on sumo suits and wrestle. Then I sat with Sarah (my new friend from KC who is in my Spanish class) for a half hour or so and watched people play “flamingo football”.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the sport, it’s quite simple. It’s football. Normal football (tackle and everything). And the teams are guys vs. girls. Oh, and the guys ankles are tied together so they have to hop everywhere. It was extremely entertaining to watch.

Anyway, after the game was over, I headed over to Mayfield (the all-girls dorm) because it was….Mayfield open dorm night!! Yay! So I talked to…girls. And it was fun.

Then I came back and did homework, and now here I sit – ready for the rip roarin’ action that’s sure to come tomorrow.
