Hmmm…here’s a couple cool songs that you should listen to at least twenty times in the next twenty-four hours: Foreign Language by Anberlin and and Here is Gone by the Goo Goo Dolls. If you don’t, I’m no longer your friend.
It’s homecoming weekend here at JBoo. They dedicated the Soderquist Business Center today. Lots of important people were at chapel (Three former presidents of JBU, the mayor, that one really cute girl, state reps, an Arkansas senator, etc.). Lots of old people in suits and dresses are wandering the campus. They chew their cud and glare at the students dressed as cowboys and indians (spirit week) whooping and shooting cap guns while chasing each other across campus, somehow fixing the idea in their mind that they never did anything that immature during their college years here.
“When we were in school here in the 60’s, we had to walk across the quad to class much like you. Except…the quad was uphill. Both ways. And it was five miles long. And for fun on the weekends we’d take the ties off of our dress shirts and study something enjoyable like quantum physics. If we wanted to dress really out there, the guys would wear a polo instead of a button-down, and the girls would wear skirts that would let their shins show.”
It’s ok though. As much as they try to deny it, we all know they acted like retards when they were here too. I don’t know if that justifies us doing it, but hey, it’s college! I do boring things too. Like Spanish homework and going and filming a reunion for three hours. Yeah, I did that today. But I got payed $10 an hour. So I’ll take it.
Foreign Language? I mean, that’s a good song and all, but Readyfuels, Change the World, Glass to the Arson, and Cadence are all better on that CD.
