Well, today was the last of many things.
Last Monday of high school, last convocation ever, last Great Ideas class ever, last high school english class, last high school art class, last ride in a school suburban, last taping for high school video projects, last time sitting on the swings on the last Monday of high school, I mean, I could go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on but I won’t.
Instead, I shall share with you these words of wisdom:
“No bird soars too high if he soars with his own wings.”
Mmm, profound eh? What was that? More you say? Very well…
“We do not inherit the earth from our parents. We borrow it from our children.”
I honestly don’t know why I didn’t go and try to dig these up earlier today when I actually could have used them. That’s right, today all of the seniors passed the batons of leadership onto the juniors and gave their parting words of wisdom. Naturally I said nothing of consequence.
I’ve finished my homework for tomorrow, and I’ve just realized something. Tomorrow will be the last day I ever put on those uniform pants or that uniform shirt. The satisfaction of knowing that is a wondrous thing to behold.
