Another Crazy College Weekend

My goodness. What a weekend.

The last couple days I have been going to bed at times when some people are probably getting up. Friday night I went to bed a little after 5 AM, and last night I went to bed around 4:30. Why, you ask? ‘Cause I can can can can can!!

On Friday around a billion or so people came over to Suite 21 and we watched that one Muppet Treasure Island movie. I had never seen it before, and I didn’t have very high expectations, but it actually was pretty funny. That got over around ten or so…and then we just hung out and threw stuff at each other and tickled people till around eleven. Theeeeen we all got decked out in Hawaiian clothes and went cyber bowling until one in the morning. That was crazy cool fun…except for that my stomach kinda hurt. One of my friends won a five dollar gift card to Wal-Mart for winning a “Most Stylish Bowl” competition, so we headed over there afterwards and grabbed a pizza and some ice cream bars. We headed back to campus and ate and watched Napoleon Dynamite starting around two. When that got over we were all too tired to peel ourselves off the couch so we sat there talking for another hour before we finally called it a night at five.

Then Saturday! I got up at the ungodly hour of eleven in the morning to go do a service project for our leadership class. (On a side note, I didn’t get an RA position…and neither did anyone else I know. Only two freshmen made it…and none of the ones I’m friends with. Apparently the high majority of the RA’s this year are staying on for next year.) Got done with that and just kinda hung out until evening time, at which point we did some chillin’ at J. Alvin and Mayfield…before someone had the bright idea of going swimming in a lake at midnight while it’s 40 degrees outside. Being the intelligent people we are, we went down there and shivered to death in the lake for a while before we decided that if we didn’t get out we really would die, so we scrambled into the car (seven of us in one car, by the way) and headed back to JBU. We then bundled up in sweats and hoodies and hung out in the honors center drinking hot chocolate. Until four in the morning.

Got up and went with Dri (do you like being called Dri?) to church this morning…and now I’m sitting in the radio studio doing my shift. And blogging! I keep having to stop typing though so I can do my talksets. Yeah, see, like that. Now I’ve lost my momentum. Today is going to kinda just be a catch-up-on-homework/sleep day. Oh oh, and my grandparents are going to stop by today and take me out for dinner! Looking forward to that!!
