I Was Much Better Than I Am

Today was interesting, even though this morning wasn’t.

I slept till 1:00 P.M.

But after that I did some cool things, like eat a burrito and pick the kids up from school. Then I went to David Packard’s piano recital which was pretty sweet. Then I came back here and found some interesting things.

One thing I found is my 1995 school yearbook. That’s right, second grade, my first year at CPLS. Matthew and I are so cute!! Actually, I’m pretty cute, but he looks like a nerd. Seriously. His glasses are bigger than his head. I didn’t hit nerdness till about five minu…I mean fourth grade.

The other thing I found is my summer piano recital piece from 1999 (Ansen was eleven/twelvish). The song I played is ridiculous!! David played it tonight in his recital (very well I might add), and I tried to play it tonight when I got home. I must have been a child prodigy or something!! The song is crazy hard/amazing!!The only question is, what happened to me since then?? If only I was still amazing…now I have to settle for just being awesome.

And having that awesomeness exist only through my own eyes.

But that’s ok. I’m going to head to bed now, as I have to go to work tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be a typical summer day – work from 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. and then try to find something cool to do.

Better get used to it.

  1. Don’t you mean 1:00 P.M.? And even then, you only got up ’cause we woke you up. But yes, you were great on the piano–that’s why you still need to practice!!

  2. Mom?! weird….anyway, it’s too bad you’re not amazing like you’re sister. She got to go to school while you were at work :p, oh wait…..
