I LOVE MY FRIENDS (AND I HATE FINALS)

I love Dri! I love Chase! I love other people too!

I’ve spent the last eight hours sitting in front of a computer screen troubleshooting video editing software in the mac lab. I couldn’t get it to render, then I had to transfer five gigs of video over to another computer, and then I still couldn’t get it to render, and then I finally figured that out but then couldn’t get it to burn….

Anyway, long story short, after eight hours I finally was done (that doesn’t include the seven hours prior to that that I actually spent making the video). So by this time it was 1:30 AM. Also due tomorrow (or today as it is now…) is a five-page paper for my spanish class where we are supposed to interview someone who has spent time in both America and a Spanish-speaking country. So at 1:30, I hadn’t even gotten started. Oh, and did I mention this five page paper has to be written IN SPANISH?

I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have been able to do all this without the help of Dri and Chase. The person I was supposed to interview didn’t work out because of…things beyond my control…which I won’t get into. Anyway, as of about 8:00 PM tonight I still hadn’t even interviewed someone. But Chase came through at crunch time and offered to contact his mom, who spent a couple years living in Colombia! She was kind enough to do a kind of e-mail interview and give me the help I needed (THANKS)! Chase was there to offer me some moral support while working on my video, and then when I came back to write my paper, he offered me some more information on his mom and gave me his NOS energy drink to help me make it through the night.

THEN, my amazingly awesome Dri surprised me by coming over at 2:30 in the morning (even though she has an early final tomorrow) to bring me some chocolate covered cherries, a mocha cappiccino, a hug, and some encouragement!!

I love the people in my life. Anyways, I’m almost finished up with this paper, but just had to take a bit of a break for a moment. I’ve got plenty of caffeine in my system now, and am ready to stay up as long as it takes. :)

A nap tomorrow afternoon may be in order…

P.S. – If anyone ever tells me again that broadcasting is a pud major, I will probably attempt to strangle you. Give me your twenty page papers or thirty minute presentations any day – they’re all less frustrating than dealing with computers with bad attitudes, profs with no forgiveness, and 203587 video projects due in the span of just a few days. I’d like to see you survive it.
