Well, today was not my typical Sunday.
First off, I got up at 6:45 this morning, because we were supposed to leave at 7:20 to go see my grandmother. So I get upstairs around 7:15, but the whole house is completely quiet. Turns out everyone except me overslept. And they get mad at me for being slow in the mornings.
So we finally head out and arrive at the hospital in Fort Scott at around 11:30ish and see my grandma. She’s looking a bit better now, not quite as skinny and pale. I noticed her hand was shaking when she was eating her lunch though, so she’s obviously not up to full strength. It was very encouraging though, as it appears she will be able to return home by Wednesday. Thanks to all who prayed for her, and please continue to do so.
We got back in town at 4:30, so I changed and headed over to Town & Country a little bit early. For no…um…*cough*…particular reason. Ok maybe one. We hadn’t talked in a while, so it was good. I was quite happy.
Then came the soccer tournament. I had been looking forward to this for quite some time, but things really didn’t go that well. Our team just didn’t quite have it. Matthew was having asthma problems. Andrew only stayed for two games. He was replaced by Don, who knows his stuff, but athletically just doesn’t quite have the speed anymore.
We lost all of our games.
On top of that my shin is decorated with some really nasty looking bruise things from Kyle’s shoe, Logsdon kicked the ball directly into my eye at point blank range, and Dan sorta missed the ball once and kicked me directly on my Achilles tendon. On the same leg as the bruise things. Which meant my leg hurt.
So I couldn’t run very well, Matthew was short of breath, and Don was too. Like I said, we lost. Oh well. Life goes on. I came home and had some pasta for dinner, and then hung out with the fam a bit.
Now it’s off to bed. Until the ‘morrow next.
I have soccer ball imprints on my thigh from either Kyle or Rachel. I hate being goalie. Oh, and I don’t need a secret blog to make fun of you! :) No. I’m better today, in fact, I’m going to go enjoy the sunshine!
