Well, I’m Eighteen Now

BIRTHDAY RUNDOWN!

So I woke up promptly at 9:00 this morning, which is early for me (if I don’t work that morning). Why? Because my mom said the night before that there was no way I could wake up at 9:00. She said the only way I’d be able to do that was if I had an incentive (like work). Little did she realize that by saying I couldn’t do it she was giving me an incentive.

Anyway, I went upstairs and took a shower, then I opened my presents. Of which there were two. And three envelopes. I opened the one from Maddie first, and it was a lanyard (sp?) that says “I love golf.” It’s pretty cool, but I think she was even more excited about me opening it than I was. Next I opened some envelopes from the grandparents, both of which contained some green. Then came my other present, a pair of orange crocs!! They are very comfy, and they (I believe) perfectly accentuate my beautiful feet. I’m going to wear them everywhere. Except around Becky. :)

Finally, I opened the last envelope, which was from my parents. More cash. Pretty cool, except for the fact that I have to put all of the money from both my birthday and graduation into my college fund. :(

So then we went to Perkins and had a sort of brunch I guess. VERY good! Then I went and got some postcard stamps for my thankyou cards and registered for selective service. That’s right! Now that I’m eighteen, I am going to start smoking, win the lottery, buy infomercial products, and get shot by communists. Not necessarily in that order.

Then I came home for a bit, and then left again and played nine holes of golf with David Packard, who beat me. Then I worked! On my birthday! Ugh. But apparently Becky stopped by (I didn’t get to see her…) and left me a present. The guys didn’t know it was my birthday, so they celebrated by drenching me with cups of water when we were out in the parking lot closing up. That was fun.

And now I’m here! Listening to Becky’s CD that she made me, eating the Mike & Ike’s that Sarah gave me, and typing this.

Woah, weird. I stopped typing for a bit there.

Anyway, Tomorrow is my second day of being eighteen, and it’s going to be awesome. Maybe. I have to work in the morning. Tsk tsk…oh well. Till the ‘morrow next!

  1. Your life is very similar to mine: Constantly working, saving for college funds..being one of the coolest people in this galaxy..it isn’t..by George! (switch to elated freaky voice) IT ISN’T EASY!!! HE HEE HE

  2. You should definitely wait to be shot by communists until last…otherwise the other things are going to be more difficult.
