Time Flies

I’ve officially decided that I’m going to try to get back into my regular posting habits. I’ve been slowing down a bit this last month and I’m thinking that’s going to have to change. Now for all of you others that have been slacking off out there, I want you to get back into it for August. After all, I’m only going to be here for half of the month and then I’m heading out to college. I want you all to keep updating so I can keep up with what’s going on in your lives!!! And that goes for all of you!

Today was fun. No work was the main reason. I stayed home and played Age of Empires against Marshall and Arielle. They even had two computers on their team and I still beat them!! We’re going to have to work on coming up with a setting where it’ll be a fair fight.

After that exhilerating two and a half hour game, I went to youth group, which I must admit was a bit on the boring side. All we really did was discuss future plans for bible studies/link groups/youth group etc. Now…I’m not saying that spending some time planning on how to improve our spiritual lives is a waste. In fact, the discussion was very good. But, seeing how I only have two more youth groups to go until I’m outta there, it didn’t really pertain to me much. Then we looked at all twenty minutes worth of the CIY pictures, which was kinda fun, but I wasn’t there, so I wasn’t in on a lot of it.

Then I came back home and watched Secondhand Lions with Becky, Abe, and David. Good stuff. I liked it a lot – very funny.

Anyway, it’s back to work tomorrow. I gotta open and work till four or five. Yippadeedooda. It just sort of hit me tonight that I only two more weeks to work. And two more weeks of summer. And two more weeks of Topeka and all my friends. THAT’S IT!! Then I go to college. It’s funny how you spend your whole elementary, middle, and high school life thinking about how far off college is, and then it’s right on top of you. Even senior year, and even this summer I’m always thinking, “Oh, I’ve still got a while yet.” Two weeks. Wow. Time flies.

DID YOU KNOW? On the song “Welcome to the Club Remix”, every member of the band does their own rap solo that they wrote and performed themselves. Well, almost. Everyone wrote and performed theirs except…Matthew!! As we all sat down to compose our beautiful rap solos, we noticed Matthew was struggling a bit. I mean, we were all struggling, but Matthew didn’t have a word written down. Nothing was coming. So, finally, after we tried to get him to write something, Tiffany wrote it for him!! She came up with a very…interesting rap. It’s a little crazy, but it still might be better than what he would have been able to come up with. Because it’s so odd, it does get a lot of laughs. Unfortunately it doesn’t fit the drum beat very well. But hey, it’s funny. Who knows, maybe it’ll be your favorite too!

  1. Wow. The Freelance CD is very awesome. I especially like the Untitled Tribute song. I hadn’t ever heard it, but I must say it’s amazing. You are so talented, Ansen! Welcome to the Club Remix is pretty funny…I think David’s rap is the best though. I can’t believe we all leave in almost two weeks. “I cannot explain how bittersweet this moment is..”
