Nothin’ Like Good Ol’ Homework

Ugh…big homework night. Two papers, 50 pages of reading for one subject, a whole book (103 pages) for another…sounds like CPLS huh (or worse…)? I just finished, but I’m really tired and want to go to bed so I’m not going to say much except this:

1) Check out the HP blog. I posted. It’s based on a discussion we had in Mass Media class…
2) Pray for the people of New Orleans and the surrounding areas. The JBU campus’ response to the hurricane has been astounding. Some students AND teachers/administration are pushing for cancelling school for a week and sending everyone (yes, all 1200 of us) down to help clean up. A bunch of students organized a 24 hour prayer vigil. Pretty awesome stuff.
3) If you want to listen to a cool band/awesome songs, listen to “The District Sleeps Alone Tonight” and “Such Great Heights” by The Postal Service. I could listen to these two songs over and over for forever. Mmm. Crazy awesome songs.
4) I’m not coming home this weekend. :( But that gives you all the more reason to e-mail or call me!! So do it!
5) Pray that my interview at KLRC goes well tomorrow!
6) Pray that I’ll be able to keep up with homework/workstudy/choir/honors senate/girls that want my number!! :) Kiddin’ on that last one.

G’night all, and God bless.

  1. “the district sleeps alone tonight” is probably one of my favorite songs ever. and it has probab;y one of the best lines in music history as well… “you seem so out of context/in this gaudy apartment complex…” and the next few lines after that… awesome. good choice, ansen.

  2. Ah yes, I learned ‘such great heights’ on guitar and sit alone in my room, often 19 hours a day, playing it over and over again, and singing along. Anyway, I totally thought it was by Iron & Wine. That’s what my computer says, even when I threatened it with a lie test.

P.S. That would be totally awesome (not in the experiencially cool way, but in a… different way) if you guys headed south to help. Washburn has responded by offering hurricane victims in-state tuition.
