Scrapbook Pages

As promised, here are a few of my favorite scrapbook pages I’ve been working on for Avie’s baby book.

Yes, those are our original hospital bands and the card they put in her bassinet while we were there.

Seriously, this pack of die cut circus animals is my favorite. Kinda wish we would have gone with a circus theme now!

I’ve come to really appreciate the die cut items that I already have (particularly the letters) but die cuts are hard to come by (at least at Walmart and I don’t get over to Hobby Lobby that often.) So I’m thinking about getting asking for a die cut machine for my birthday or Christmas. The only problem is that they’re a bit more than than our birthday and Christmas budgets combined.

The one I’m looking at is the Cricut Expression II (mainly because it’s one of the cheapest 12″ cutters around, at $179 online). But I don’t really know anything about die cutters and I’ve never used one. Any scrappy friends have any thoughts or suggestions out there? I know that I would prefer the 12″ size to a 6″ because there will always come a time where I wish I had the bigger one. And I’d like something I don’t have to buy a ton of new cartridges or programs for. (Though, I suppose that would make for some good birthday/Christmas ideas don the road.) If you have any, please share your thoughts in the comments! Thanks!

  1. The Cricut is amazing! But the cartridges are kinda expensive. If you purchase the Cricut Cake, (I have one and I love it!) it is made with food grade materials and is easy to clean, so you can use it for cakes and cookies, and if you purchase an additional blade and a few other things, you can use it for scrapbooking too. Just an idea.
