How To Paint With A Toddler

Last Friday, my sweet sister-in-law came over to help me finally paint the office Pebble Gray!

Now you might be curious, how exactly we painted… with a toddler running around. Well, here are a few tips…

To begin, we used a baby gate to keep her out. We played lots of Veggie Tales on the TV in the hallway. There were definitely some tears, especially for the five minutes it took to paint around the door, but she played in her room (right next door) and in the hallway.

Toddlers love food. One great way to occupy them and keep them contained: the high chair! After a nap (which is when we got quite a bit accomplished!) it was “lunch” time. Perfect for more painting!

As we started our final coat. Which, for some reason, was incredibly quick. I think we did one wall in about 10 minutes!

Tonight, I focused on putting things back. This picture makes it look so pink, but it’s really gray with an almost blue tint, as you can tell in the first few pictures.

And, I painted the brackets. They’re not quite as bubble gummy as it looks like in this picture. It’s more of a melon. It’s progress and soon, we’ll be painting an accent wall and finishing up the details. Woohoo!
